Where was this secret dinner?

The moment we have all been waiting for… The Adelaide Zoo!! And what an incredible evening it was. From the moment the sea of white entered the gates with their white attire, chairs, tables, picnic baskets the zoo transformed into a magical place tucked away from reality. It was absolutely amazing to see 800 people transform this garden area into an elegant dining setting. The evening was absolutely perfect filled with laughs, live music, fabulous wine and delicious food.

Below are just a few photos from the evening. I am sure Splash Adelaide and Diner En Blanc will have a few posted next week and I will try to get a couple more up as well.

Be sure to watch out for this wonderful event next year!

The World’s Largest Secret Dinner Party – Diner En Blanc

White pants (tick), White top (tick), White suit jacket (tick)… still need white shoes before tomorrow evening!!

So excited to be working with Splash Adelaide and Diner En Blanc – The World’s Largest Secret Dinner Party

Here’s a little about the event from their website-
At the last minute, the location is given to thousands of friends and acquaintances who have been patiently waiting to learn the “Dîner en Blanc’s” secret place. Thousands of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space.

What are the key rules of the event?
Le Dîner en Blanc® is quite different from other special events. The evening takes place in a public place which was not designed for such a purpose and is often crowded. It must necessarily be very controlled in order for future editions to be held.
  • Seats are allotted on-site in a very specific manner.
  • In order to participate, one must be invited by a participant from the previous year or get on the official website’s waiting list.
  • Once confirmed, the presence of each guest thus becomes mandatory, regardless of weather conditions, as the event is held regardless of weather conditions.
  • Colour of attire and table setting: white only.
  • Table seating is symmetrical with men seated on one side and women on the other.
  • Participants arrive and depart at the same time by chartered bus or organized public transportation.
  • Depart with one’s belongings, leftovers and trash, leaving the place as clean as it was upon arrival.

What must guests bring?

  • A table, two (white) chairs.
  • A picnic basket comprised of quality menu items and a china dinner service including proper stemware and flatware.
  • Wine or Champagne, if allowed. Beer and hard alcohol is prohibited.
  • Participants must wear white and be dressed elegantly.
  • Originality is encouraged as long as it stays stylish and denotes taste

Check out my site for updates as the secret dinner party unveils tomorrow evening!!! Should be a pretty spectactular event.

Sunny Sunday Afternoon

The beautiful sun sure brings out the best in all of us. Had a blast working with Splash Adelaide at the Fork on the Road event on Sunday. I was a bit worried in the morning  with the dark clouds in the sky  but by midday the sun was standing high bringing heaps of people out to this event. There were over 30 food trucks, a beer garden and music!! Can’t get any better on a Sunday afternoon. Be sure to checkout the Splash Adelaide Event Calendar to see whats happening here in Adelaide. Hope to see you all at the next Splash Adelaide Event. Be sure to smile…you never know I might catch you on camera!!!! I certainly do love being a local Photographer here in Adelaide!    Image

Opera Anyone???

It was an absolute pleasure working with JP Media photographing two State Opera stars, singers Michael Lapina and Michael Honeyman, on Friday afternoon at Rigoni’s Bistro. The State Opera launched the new series of “pop up” concerts around Adelaide.  Their performance was outstanding. It was an amazing local lunch time performance for everyone at Rigoni’s Bistro on Leigh St, Adelaide. In case you missed out here are a few photographs of their performance.

A week of fun filled activities. Kids week at the Adelaide Central Markets.

Well the nice weather is finally here and Adelaide is starting to come to life. Have had a pretty busy week but absolutely love taking photos of the events popping up around the city.

The Adelaide Central Markets sure kept the kids busy (and me!!) with a full schedule of events. From Sprouts Kids Cooking classes to animals there was an event for everyone. A week of laughs, smiles and great memories. Check out http://www.adelaidecentralmarket.com.au for upcoming events.

Sprout Cooking classes here at the Adelaide Central Markets were a sold out success. The team was excellent and the kids certainly enjoyed themselves. Image

Not only did Sprout put on an excellent cooking course they also gave the kids a tour around the Adelaide Central Markets.Image

The Adelaide Central Market Trail was a big success. Thanks to the stalls that participated in this event. The kids certainly loved going on a treasure hunt through the Adelaide Central Markets. Image

The Market Trail was great fun for the whole family. These little guys were having a blast and dad seemed to being having just as much fun.

Time to get a little dirty and join Spludge in a little bit of potato stamping fun. What a great little corner of fabulous craft ideas. Great place to let the little ones play while you sit back and relax over a nice cup of coffee.Image

The animal nursery was a huge success. The kids were just having so much fun with the animals. This little fella was absolutely fearless. What a great afternoon here at the Adelaide Markets.Image
